MXP4, a startup that creates interactive tools that allow artists and producers to let listeners “play” and interact with digital music, has raised $4 million in funding led by Paris-based Goojet funder Orkos Capital. Sofinnova (which backs Streamezzo) and Ventech (in Eyeka) participated, as they have in previous rounds. The cash will fund the MXP4 Everywhere project to distribute the widgets as widely as possible. MPX4 has now raised $13m to date.
Launched in 2007, MXP4, which offers a digital format to music that rivals the MP3 format, lets users remix tracks, add images and video content, add music layers and more.
